  1. Can I register my domain name somewhere else and host with you? [top]
Yes, you may register your domain name with any registrar that you choose. You just need to make sure that your domain name records reflect Docu-Type Web Hosting's nameservers.

  2. How long until my newly registered or transferred domain is available and what is propagation?  [top]
    A. It takes approximately 24-48 and sometimes up to 72 hours for the domain name registration to propagate throughout the internet.

Propagation: When a visitor types your domain name into their Web browser, their request is referred to a nameserver that indicates the physical location (the IP address) of your domain on the Internet. When your site location changes to a new IP address, or when a new domain name is added, nameservers around the world must be notified of the change. This process is referred to as propagation. Propagation normally requires 12-48 hours.

  7. Will you register my domain name or me and if so, how much does it cost? [top]

We can help you by registering your domain name (.com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .ws, etc.). We can also help Canadians register for a .ca domain with a designated registrar in Canada. Billing for domain .ca registration will come directly from the registrar as opposed to Docu-Type billing you. We do not directly supply domain names.
